About Us
Agostini Building Solutions, was formerly known as Agostini Marketing, which started as the trading arm of Agostini’s Limited.
In the 1960’s our hardware section grew with the addition of plywood and a range of carpets, floorings, partitions and Armstrong flooring and ceiling systems. Interior contracting services became a natural addition to our offerings around this same time, and has now grown to be a substantial revenue contributor to the business.
In 1984, we acquired Hilti W.L Yearwood Limited, a company that exclusively marketed the industrial range of Hilti products. With the subsequent acquisition of the Sika range of construction and industrial chemicals this business now operates as the Chemicals & Hilti division of Agostini Building Solutions and also markets explosives, small arms and a range of ammunition. Its focus is on providing solutions to the industrial and contractor segments of the market.
Since inception our overarching goal has been to bring new and innovative products and services to market and to help the design professional community and contractors solve their day to day design and installation challenges. In the mid 1980’s we provided innovative solutions for a new to market concept of high end high rise apartment buildings. The specific challenge was the blocking of impact noise from one floor to the next without having to use a soft flooring like carpet throughout the residence. Our search for a solution lead us to LATICRETE, we acquired that agency and installed the porcelain tiles specified by the Architect using a sound control thinset product that eliminated the need for the use of multiple products from different manufacturers to achieve the performance specified.
In the late 1990’s we introduced Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) to the local woodworking industry. Allowing furniture manufacturers and cabinet makers to produce joinery work that matched international standards of fit and finish.
In the mid 2000’s it became apparent that the design and commercial building community was in need of a “Single Source” of responsibility approach to commercial construction. Recognising this need our contracting division pivoted in this direction and positioned itself as the primer single source of responsibility interior fit-out contractor. We have completed many successful projects utilizing this model and have managed all the sub trades involved in an internal fit-out project in so doing.
In recognising the need to continue to drive costs out of the value chain and to become a true single source solution we acquired lightsource Limited in January 2020 and in March 2020 the Kimball, Sit on it and Spacefile lines from Office Centre Limited. These offerings added to our current product lines cements our position as a true single source supplier and installer and supports our vision of; Going beyond deliver an unmatched experience to every customer.
